The Department of Homeland Security's Office of the Chief Procurement Officer is organizing the DHS Industry Day, scheduled for December 3, 2008, at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, D.C. This event is designed to facilitate communication between DHS and industry representatives by sharing acquisition plans and requirements ahead of upcoming opportunities. It targets federal contractors of all sizes and industries, including small and disadvantaged businesses such as 8(a), HUBZone, Service Disabled Veteran, Veteran Owned, and Woman Owned Businesses. By providing this platform, DHS aims to enhance competition and foster a better understanding of its procurement needs. Attendance is limited to one representative per company, and space is constrained, emphasizing the need for early registration via the designated conference website. Presentations will also be accessible through a webcast link posted on the day of the event. Interested parties can obtain further details by contacting the event coordinator, Bob Jeffers, or reach out to the contracting officer, E. Darlene Bullock, for contracting-related inquiries. This initiative is part of DHS’s ongoing efforts for fiscal year 2009 to engage and inform potential contractors through transparent and proactive communication.
