Full Description

The Digital Recovery Sequencer (DRS) is a component of the ACES II seat. The Digital Recovery Sequencer establishes the correct event-timing sequence of post-ejection events of the seat, using altitude and airspeed as inputs. The DRS is approximately 2.25" X 5.0" X 8.75" and is powered by two thermal batteries initiated by gas pressure from the CKU-5 Rocket Catapult. The government proposes eliminating the current environmental sensor, which consists of speed and altitude transducers on the seat and integrating these transducers into the DRS, resulting in the Enhanced Digital Recovery Sequencer (EDRS). The EDRS should provide additional ejection data recording capability and have an increased design service life. The DRS shall also be capable of being retrofitted and converted into the EDRS. Some of the NSNs affected are 1377-01-524-0101, 1377-01-524-0103, 1377-01-524-0105, and 1377-01-524-0106. The Government does not currently have any funds for this procurement. The Government has submitted funding requests for FY11 although there is no guarantee of money being allocated to this project. Our goal is to set up an IDIQ contract for this requirement upon receipt of a proposed solution and funding being made available for this effort.
