AI Contract Overview
The contract with Clemson University, titled "Disaster Restoration and Water Cleanup," is set to expire on December 17, 2024, and no further awards will be issued under this bid. The university aims to establish a fixed-price, not-to-exceed contract with multiple vendors capable of providing comprehensive disaster restoration services, including water and fire mitigation, mold remediation, smoke removal, chemical contamination cleanup, storm damage repair, and other related mitigation and cleaning efforts. These services are intended to restore university facilities on the Clemson campus and across other university properties within South Carolina to at least their pre-loss condition, addressing various types of damage caused by natural disasters, accidents, or equipment failures. The solicitation, issued in December 2019 under NAICS code 562910, involves South Carolina's State and Local Government and is managed by Clemson’s procurement office, with Mr. Sam C. Young serving as the primary contact. Important notices related to tax withholding requirements for nonresidents performing work in South Carolina are included, emphasizing the state's withholding obligations under specific legal sections, with rates of 2% on payments and higher rates on rentals or royalties. These notices serve to inform vendors of tax compliance responsibilities but do not administer tax issues directly. Additionally, the document summaries include various procurement activities such as a request for quotation for signage, an addendum for fire engine re-bidding, and a bid invitation for garage door installation at a Missouri EMS facility, illustrating ongoing procurement processes across different agencies. Overall, the contract provides essential disaster recovery services for Clemson University and is part of broader state and local procurement efforts, with specific guidelines for tax compliance and related bidding activities.
