Disposal of the CCGS Hudson

The Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) has a requirement to dispose of, through Ship Breaking, the CCGS Hudson. The Contractor will be required to prepare the vessel for transportation, transport the vessel to the Approved Site and subsequently break (dismantle and dispose or recycle) the vessel in an efficient and environmentally responsible manner in accordance with the Statement of Work - Annex "A".
The Contractor will have until December 15, 2022 to remove the vessel from the Bedford Institute of Oceanography (BIO) in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and until November 15, 2023 to complete the Work.
The Basel Convention on the Control of Transboundary Movements of Hazardous Wastes and their Disposal applied to this requirement.
There is a mandatory vessel viewing associated with this requirement. The viewing will held on September 8, 2022 at the Bedford Institute of Oceanography (BIO) in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, where the vessel is currently docked. See Part 2, article 2.5 for additional information.
