The Department of Fisheries and Oceans (Small Craft Harbours) has a requirement to dispose of, through Ship Breaking, the F/V Atlantic Pursuit. The Contractor will be required to prepare the vessel for transportation, transport the vessel to the Approved Site and subsequently break (dismantle and dispose or recycle) the vessel in an efficient and environmentally responsible manner in accordance with the Statement of Work - Annex A.
The Contractor will have until November 15, 2022 to remove the vessel from the Small Craft Harbours site in Grand Bank Harbour, Newfoundland and Labrador, and until March 31, 2024 to complete the Work.
The Basel Convention on the Control of Transboundary Movements of Hazardous Wastes and their Disposal applied to this requirement.
There is a mandatory bidders’ conference and vessel viewing associated with this requirement. See Part 2, article 2.5 for additional information.
