The Naval War College’s College of Distance Education requires an individual to serve as an instructor and local administrator for two graduate-level nonresident evening courses on National Security Decision Making, to be conducted in the Norfolk, VA area. These courses mirror those taught on campus in Newport but need local oversight due to the physical distance from the main college. The contract calls for a professional who possesses a unique blend of education, expertise in joint warfare concepts, familiarity with the Naval War College’s missions, and experience teaching at the graduate level. The selected individual will be responsible for executing course preparation, administration, and instruction, while course syllabi, teaching materials, and administrative funding are provided by the CDE faculty. This will be awarded as a firm fixed price sole source contract to R. L. Powers, with a performance period from August 7, 2009, to June 4, 2010. The contract supports the NAICS code 611710, indicating educational services, and is administered by the Naval War College under the Department of Defense.
