Full Description

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), in support of the Vaccine Research Center (VRC), intends to negotiate on an other than full and open basis with GeneImmune Biotechnology LLC, 15601 Crabbs Branch Way, Suite E128, Rockville, MD, for DNA Services, which include subcloning, mutagenesis, gene synthesis and plasmid production for the VRC research in HIV vaccine development. These DNA Services involve performance of site directed mutagenesis and subcloning to produce megaprep (at least 5mg) or maxiprep (1-2 mgs) of column purified plasmid DNA. The plasmid DNA will be evaluated for purity, quantified, and verified by single-pass sequencing prior to shipping. In addition, bacterial glycerol stocks will be stored on-site for 1 year for additional troubleshooting services if needed. This acquisition will be processed under FAR Part 12 - Acquisition for Commercial Items and will be made pursuant to the authority in FAR Part 13.501 (a)(1). Only one award will be made as a result of this solicitation. This will be a firm fixed price award. FOB Point shall be Destination: 40 Convent Drive, Bethesda, Maryland 20892. Period of Performance: This is a standing order for one year from date of award. The statutory authority for this sole source requirement is 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS. All responsible sources who can provide the same service may submit a response that could be considered by email (subject line to reference NIAID-NOI-18-1909566) to Akilah Bullock at akilah.bullock@nih.gov, by 5:00 pm eastern standard time Monday, July 2, 2018. All information furnished must be in writing and must contain sufficient detail to allow NIAID to determine if the response can meet the above unique specifications described herein.
