The contract involves the procurement of replacement parts and materials for the floating docks at Onoville Marina Park in Cattaraugus County, New York, with a completion deadline of six months from award. It includes a variety of pre-constructed galvanized steel dock frames, floats, and float drums of different sizes, totaling approximately 150 feet of dock structures, along with associated accessories such as rubber rub rails, corner bumpers, and galvanized wire rope cables. The materials are designed to support the marina’s floating dock system, which has been in service for nearly 30 years and requires upgrades due to wear from UV exposure, ice damage, and water movement. Additionally, the project requires the replacement of around 100 hand crank winches of varying capacities, which are essential for securing the docks to underground anchors. The contract emphasizes a goal of 30% MWBE participation and is set for a response deadline of June 26, 2025, with a bid opening at 9:45 AM. The contract is managed by Cattaraugus County’s New York office, and interested bidders can contact the designated project specialist, Kate O'Stricker, for further details. The procurement aims to ensure the continued safety and functionality of the marina’s floating dock system through comprehensive replacement and upgrade of critical components.

These winches are spaced out along each dock system. The winches are connected, by a cable, to underground anchor points. They are a spur gear style hand winch that range from ½ ton to 5 ton capacity per winch. These winches are mounted to posts on the side frame rails of the docks. Over the last 30 years, along with flooding and ice damage, these winches are in need being replaced. All of the dock’s walkways and fingers, that the boats tie to, have multiple floats or float drums to support them. These floats are foam filled, one piece shell constructed with heavy mounting flanges and structural ribs. There are close to 1200 floats, of different sizes, to support the docks that are of various sizes. A majority of these floats have been in the water close to 30 years. (A limited number have already been changed). Over that length of time there is wear from UV rays, ice damage and water movement. This rub rail helps to protect the docks from boats rubbing or hitting into them. There is approximately 15,000 feet of rub rail wrapping all of the dock’s walkways and fingers. UV light and rubbing/hitting make the rub rail brittle and crack.
