This contract involves the allocation of implementation funding awarded to the State of New York through the DOE's Grid Resilience State/Tribal Formula Grants Program, serving as the second phase of a two-step funding process. The funds are specifically designated for small-scale entities such as Municipal Utilities (MUNIs), Cooperative Utilities (CO-OPs), and other organizations that sell less than 4 million MWh annually, to support projects aimed at enhancing grid resilience within their systems. Entities that did not participate in the initial technical assistance phase remain eligible to apply for this implementation funding. The program is open across all counties in New York State, with a response deadline set for February 12, 2025, and the contract size ranges from 50 million to 200 million dollars. Eligible applicants include various electric sector entities such as grid operators, storage operators, generators, transmission owners, and fuel suppliers, provided they meet the specified annual sales cap. The solicitation does not set goals for minority, women, service-disabled veteran, or disadvantaged-owned subcontracting, and there is no defined contract term. Interested parties can find additional details and respond via the NYSERDA website. The program aims to bolster grid resilience through targeted investments, with the potential for significant project implementation across all regions of New York State.
