Door Assembly

This is a special notice prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.2 "Synopses of Proposed Contract Actions" Letterkenny Army Depot intends to negotiate/award a sole-source, Firm-Fixed Price contract with Gichner Shelter Systems. The purpose of this acquisition is to procure two (2) each door assembly, Raytheon Part Number 11453432. Raytheon owns the Technical Data Package for this part and the only distributor is Gichner Shelter Systems, CAGE Code 29381, 490 East Locust Street, Dallastown, PA 17313-1902. The statutory authority for this non-competitive acquisition is 10 U.S.C 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 13.106-1(b) for purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold. Furthermore, in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(b)(1)(ii), the item listed below is available from only one source. The Government intends to proceed with this sole source action. The NAICS code is 332510 Hardware Manufacturing. The size standard as defined by the U.S. Small Business Administration is 750 Employees. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS OR QUOTATIONS. Interested concerns must show clear and convincing evidence that competition of this requirement would be advantageous to the Government. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal or quote to the contracting officer before the notice end date. If no affirmative written responses are received by 08:00 AM Eastern Standard Time on February 10, 2017 an award will be made without further notice. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government.
