This solicitation, issued by the Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime, is a request for quotations for a single marine metal door, identified by NSN 2040-01-393-9004 and part number 56W44-SK-8504-ASSY-198. The contract specifies a quantity of one each with a required delivery date of August 20, 2026, following a 20-day delivery window. The item is classified as a critical application item and must be delivered FOB destination, where both inspection and acceptance will occur. The shipment is designated for vessel transport to the USS Benfold DDG 65 via FPO AP, and vendors are instructed to use the fastest traceable means of shipment rather than parcel post. The procurement is subject to strict technical and quality requirements, including adherence to DLA packaging standards and MIL-STD-129 marking protocols. Specific environmental prohibitions are in place, strictly forbidding the intentional addition of mercury or mercury-containing compounds to any hardware, with limited exceptions for functional use in specified instruments or weapon systems. Additionally, the use of Class I ozone-depleting chemicals is prohibited, and any substitute chemicals must receive prior approval. The contract incorporates various technical and quality requirements found in the DLA master list, and the vendor must comply with specific packaging data under MIL-STD-2073-1E to ensure proper preservation and cushioning during transit.
