Request for Information: Radioisotope Processing Facility Modular Hot Cells
Solicitation # 1238
UT-Battelle is issuing a Request for Information to identify industry capabilities for the design and fabrication of Modular Hot Cells (MHCs) for the Radioisotope Processing Facility (RPF), a Hazard Category 2 nuclear facility at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The scope includes the design of both Transloading and Processing MHCs, with the initial requirement being the fabrication, shipment, and installation of one Transloading MHC. Transloading units are intended to interface with shielded shipping casks for the transfer of irradiated HFIR targets, while Processing units are designed for chemical, mechanical, and thermal processing, glovebox integration, and waste management. The agency may exercise future options for an additional six Transloading MHCs and seven Processing MHCs. The future award is intended to be a competitive Basic Ordering Agreement utilizing fixed price and time and material task orders, with an anticipated start in late 2027. Technical requirements specify that installation must be compatible with air-skate transfer over reinforced floors due to the absence of overhead cranes in the process bays. Interested respondents must provide a narrative summary detailing their company capabilities, DOE or federal work experience, and two examples of similar projects. Additionally, submissions must include a methodology for environment, safety, health, and quality (ESH&Q) principles, an estimated proposal development timeline, and a budgetary cost range. The response deadline is October 23, 2026.

US ITER: DRGA Analysis Station Design Build
Solicitation # 1237
This contract involves the design, validation, fabrication, inspection, packaging, and shipment of two Diagnostic Residual Gas Analyzer (DRGA) Analysis Stations for the ITER project, specifically for Equatorial Port 11 (EP11) and Lower Port 12 (LP12). Managed by the US ITER Project Office and the Department of Energy, the procurement may be executed in two phases: a Design Phase and a Fabrication Phase. The scope includes the development of analysis station frames, analysis chambers, inter-pump volumes, forelines, and a calibration gas system for EP11, as well as an enclosure. All deliverables must adhere to the DRGA Quality Plan, the ITER Vacuum Handbook, and specific technical specifications, with the seller required to maintain a design compliance matrix and provide detailed CAD deliverables in native and exchange formats. The equipment is classified as SIC-2 for safety and QC1 for quality, and is designated as Unclassified Non-Sensitive. The seller is responsible for performing verification and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), while the company handles validation of system performance and measurement accuracy. Acceptance is based on company-provided drawings, with specific requirements for magnetic shielding and seismic testing. Final delivery is to the ITER site in Cadarache, France, requiring the seller to provide a comprehensive package design that withstands air, land, and sea transport, including bilingual handling instructions and transit monitoring for shock, vibration, and temperature. All work must be performed at company-approved facilities, and the seller must provide pro-forma invoices and fabrication values for insurance purposes.
