Wood. Wood used for blocking and bracing shall conform to ASTM-D6199. Once wood member of each size and type used in the blocking and bracing shall be tested for moisture content. Structural members [those subject to critical bending stresses) shall conform to class 1 of ASTM-D6199. All other blocking and bracing members shall conform to class 3. Whenever possible, wood blocks or braces shall be placed so that the load is applied against the end grain of the member. Ends of braces shall be socketed or fitted and secured into appropriate notches in load-bearing members.
Plywood. Plywood used for blocking and bracing shall conform to A-A-55057, group A, (grade 3-4, type II) or group B, (C-D, interior with exterior glue).

PER MIL-STD-2073-1, PARAGRAPH 5.2.3 (a-j) AS APPLICABLE TO PRODUCT. PACKAGE DESIGN SHALL PROMOTE SAFE DELIVERY AS A PERFORMANCE CRITERIA.
HARDWARE: All loose hardware shall be contained within a sealed container (bag/box) and the highest applicable preservation method (based on physical characteristics of items) shall be applied to ensure items will not be damaged or experience corrosion. In addition, packaged hardware shall be placed within each individual unit container to ensure items do not damage (dent, scratch, nick, etc.) the part or any components therein.
ATTENTION: Hardware for shipments cannot be shipped in bulk. It is not an acceptable practice. Material must arrive in serviceable condition and meet the contractual quantity unit pack requirements. Thus, requiring no additional sorting, packaging, and/or marking by user or depot personnel.
