Dos Rios Parking Entrance Irrigation

The California Department of Parks and Recreation, Central Valley District, is implementing the Dos Rios Parking Entrance Irrigation project in Stanislaus County. This initiative aims to replace unsustainable manual watering with a permanent irrigation system to support newly planted vegetation in the parking area. The project is categorized as exempt under Classes 1, 3, and 4 due to its nature as minor alteration and maintenance with no significant environmental impact. The scope of work includes excavating a 3,800-foot combined utility trench measuring 3 feet by 12 inches with a sand base for electrical and water lines. Technical requirements involve installing waterline piping ranging from 1/2-inch to 4-inch, specifically connecting a 4-inch SCH 40 PVC pipe to an existing 2-inch galvanized pipe. The contractor will install pop-up sprinklers, drip lines, irrigation control and shut-off valves, tracer wire, and utility tape. Additionally, the project requires the installation of buried boxes for valves and controllers, which must be set level with planting surfaces and filled with drain rock to prevent rodent burrowing.
