Downtown Camera Installation Project

The City of Zeeland in Michigan has issued a solicitation for proposals from qualified vendors to install four dome security cameras in the downtown area, specifically targeting three blocks within the central business district. The primary goal of this project is to improve public safety and address parking concerns by enhancing surveillance capabilities. The project involves utilizing existing city infrastructure, such as poles and underground conduit, to connect the cameras to a designated city building, ensuring efficient integration within the current urban environment. The scope of work includes supplying the necessary equipment, installing and configuring the cameras, conducting thorough testing, providing documentation, and offering training to city personnel. Vendors interested in participating must demonstrate relevant experience, provide references, and hold appropriate licenses in Michigan. The project has a budget range between $20,000 and $50,000, with a mandatory pre-bid meeting scheduled for October 24, 2025. Proposals are due by November 7, 2025, and should include detailed cost breakdowns, timelines, technical specifications, and vendor qualifications. The evaluation process will prioritize cost-effectiveness, quality, experience, and the completeness of the proposal. This initiative underscores the city's commitment to leveraging technology to enhance safety and operational efficiency within its downtown district.
