Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is seeking proposals from bidders to support NRCan’s Office of Energy Efficiency (OEE) in conducting a comprehensive investigation into the drivers and barriers impacting energy efficiency adoption within Canada’s industrial sectors. The selected contractor will undertake a detailed analysis of factors influencing energy efficiency, conduct stakeholder interviews, and provide insights into potential areas for federal action.
This contract will serve NRCan’s Industrial Division, OEE, by delivering:
• A literature review analyzing energy efficiency trends and identifying key drivers and barriers within Canadian industrial sectors, with emphasis on cement, iron and steel, chemicals, mining, oil and gas, fertilizer, pulp and paper, and general manufacturing.
• Structured interviews with stakeholders to gather sector-specific insights on drivers, barriers, and policy needs.
• A comprehensive report and presentation outlining key findings, sector-specific recommendations, and strategic insights to inform NRCan’s approach in supporting energy efficiency advancement.
The contract period extends until March 31, 2025, with all deliverables due by this date. The contractor will work primarily from their own premises, maintaining regular communication with NRCan through virtual meetings and bi-weekly progress updates.
