N66001-21-Q-6139 - Notice of Intent to Sole Source to DRS Laurel Technologies The Department of the Navy, Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC Pacific) hereby publicizes its intention to solicit, negotiate, and award a Commercial Firm-Fixed-Price FAR 13 purchase order on a non-competitive basis with DRS Laurel Technologies. This is a new procurement. The requirement is for the purchase of the following supplies: Item 0001: IRIS SERVER, WITH CHASSIS,CONCURRENT VP B12 SINGLE SENSOR P/N: LT-2000480-04 QTY: 1 Item 0002: IRIS SERVER, WITH CHASSIS, CONCURRENT VP B12 DUAL SENSOR P/N: LT--2000480-05 QTY: 1 The Required Hardware is part of a system currently used on afloat units of the US Coast Guard. Swapping the required Manufacturers parts for another manufacturers parts would necessitate costly and time consuming testing to verify compatibility. The replacement part would require a change to troubleshooting manuals, and would confuse downstream logistics, by adding potentially incompatible parts that would require different software patches, and a different hardware build, than what is already provisioned, in the event of failure. A determination by the government not to compete based upon responses to this notice is solely at the discretion of the government. However, all responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. A copy of the Request for Quote will be made available upon request.
