Market Research and Sources Sought Notice for information on capability and availability of potential contractors interested in proposing on a Firm Fixed Price Contract to Dry Dock and Perform Repairs to Barges #75 and #9201 for Tuscaloosa Site Office, Black Warrior & Tombigbee Waterway, Tuscaloosa, AL. The scope of the work will consist of the Contractor furnishing all supervision, labor, materials, paint, and equipment to accomplish dry docking; compartment cleaning; marine chemist testing; ultrasonic hull gauging; replacement of plating, shapes and fabricated brackets; air tests; repair of spuds and spud winches; inspecting diesel generator; servicing fuel system and raw water system; overhauling main electrical switchboard; overhauling deck and cargo hatches; straightening void vents and windows; certifying fire suppression system; replacing deck hatch covers and seals; hull and deck cleaning, sandblasting and painting; and repairing/replacing zinc anodes. There will also be two (optional) items to include deck clearing of Barge #75 and configuration of the main switchboard of Barge #9201 to accept shore power. Deck Barge #75 dimensions are 120' x 30', and Spud Barge #9201 dimensions are 70' x 30'. This is a Market Research and Sources Sought Notice only. No award will result from this Sources Sought Notice. There is no solicitation available at this time; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation and its supplements. It is the contractor's responsibility to monitor the Government Point of Entry for the release of any solicitation.
