E-Strip GPX Media

The 14th Contracting Squadron, 495 Harpe Blvd, Suite 256C, Columbus AFB, MS 39710 intends to solicit and award a sole source Indefinite-Delivery, Requirements contract to Midvale Environmental Technologies. The purpose of the order is to obtain E-Strip GPX media in 55 gallon drums weighing 300 lbs each. This purchase is for a commercial item and will be made using FAR 12 and FAR 16.5. Other than full and open competition is authorized pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b). Reason being is the Air Force Research Laboratory and the Air Force Corrosion and Prevention Office evaluated and approved GPX media for use on all AF aerospace and non-aerospace equipment. The T-6A System Program Office has authorized the use of this product to remove the paint from T-6A substrate here at Columbus AFB. Since Archer Daniels Midland is the only known manufacturer/vendor of this particular product; it is in the government's best interest to solicit this requirement sole source. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested contractors may submit a narrative describing their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort via e-mail to Kristen O'Hearn, Contract Administrator, kristen.o'hearn@columbus.af.mil no later than 4:00 PM CST on August 31, 2012. Capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. NOTICE TO OFFERORS: FUNDS ARE NOT PRESENTLY AVAILABLE FOR THIS EFFORT. NO AWARD WILL BE MADE UNDER THIS SOLICITATION UNTIL FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE. THE GOVERNMENT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CANCEL THIS SOLICITATION, EITHER BEFORE OR AFTER THE CLOSING DATE.
