Hillwood, acting on behalf of Speedway SBC Development, LLC, has proposed a request to the San Bernardino County Department of Public Works to initiate vacation and abandonment procedures for easements across several parcels, including APN 0231-011-26, 0231-011-25, 0231-011-28, 0231-011-29, 0231-291-02, 0231-291-05, and 0231-291-04. This process involves the quitclaim and provision of adequate compensation for the release of these easements to facilitate a massive development project in the unincorporated area of Fontana. The proposed development will occupy approximately 433 acres of a 522-acre site and consists of 6.6 million square feet of high-cube logistics and e-commerce facilities, 98 acres of support parking, 12 acres of general commercial parking, and associated landscaping and facilities. The project site is located westerly adjacent to Cherry Avenue, easterly 0.50 miles of Etwanda Avenue, northerly 0.50 miles of San Bernardino Avenue, and southerly adjacent to parcels owned by the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority. Under solicitation number TRDVA-2025-00007, the project has been granted a Notice of Exemption under CEQA Class 12 for surplus government property sales and the Common Sense Exemption, as it is determined to have no significant environmental impact.
