OPTICAL LENSES AND WARES

The Department of Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Troop Support’s Medical Directorate is preparing to issue a solicitation to establish multiple indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contracts for optical lenses and ancillary items. These contracts will supply a range of products including single-vision, bi-focal, semi-finished, and ST-28 lenses, as well as related items like lens cleaners and cloths, to DoD hospitals, clinics, and federal customers. The solicitation aims to create a multiple award schedule program, allowing customers to select products tailored to their mission needs, with orders placed through the DLA Electronic Catalog (ECAT). All supplied items must be compliant with the Trade Agreements Act (TAA) and approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The contract will have a three-year base period plus two one-year option periods, with an estimated five-year value of over $24 million and a maximum forecasted value nearing $49 million. Proposals can be submitted monthly during periodic open windows throughout the five-year solicitation period, which is expected to open around April 2019. Responsible manufacturers and distributors of optical lenses and related products are encouraged to submit proposals, which must include all certifications required by the solicitation.
