Economic Advancement Grants for Local Empowerment (EAGLE)

The Administration for Native Americans (ANA) is preparing to release funding opportunities under the Economic Advancement Grants for Local Empowerment (EAGLE) program, aimed at promoting socioeconomic and cultural development within Native communities. This initiative focuses on fostering business creation in key areas such as regenerative agriculture, artificial intelligence, tribal energy sovereignty, and human capital development. The program's core objectives include enhancing Native capacity, health, employability, and resourcefulness; driving sustainable economic growth by generating jobs, building infrastructure, and creating wealth; and accelerating economic development alongside strengthening governance systems. ANA plans to fully fund EAGLE awards for fiscal year 2026, covering a three-year period, through multiple Program Areas designed to address diverse community needs. These include Seventh-Generation Greenhouses to increase access to affordable, nutritious food and support local enterprise; Microgrids to improve energy reliability and resilience; Welders to Elders to advance workforce development and community stability; Tradition in Action, a Native Elder Program to preserve cultural education and leadership; and Indigenous Designs to Empower and Advance Self-Determination (IDEAS), which fosters community-driven solutions to pressing priorities.
