Edgewater Post Office and Credit Union Building Demolition Services

The Regional District of East Kootenay is soliciting proposals for demolition services for the Edgewater Post Office and Credit Union Building located at 5759 Sinclair Street, Edgewater, British Columbia. The scope of work involves structural demolition and the management of hazardous materials, guided by the Keefer Hazmat Services Ltd report. Key deliverables include a site-specific work plan addressing demolition sequencing, safety, and waste handling, as well as the restoration of the properties to specifications defined in the contract. Final acceptance is contingent upon an inspection by the Regional District of East Kootenay to ensure restoration requirements are met and that no damage was caused to adjacent utilities or landscaped areas. To be eligible, proponents must hold a valid WorkSafe BC Asbestos Abatement License (AAL) and be in good standing with WorkSafeBC. The contract will be awarded to the proponent who meets all mandatory criteria and achieves the highest overall ranking based on weighted criteria and price. The project requires a Site Supervisor with at least five years of field experience in demolition or environmental remediation within the last seven years. The agreement will be based on a modified CCDC 2 – 2020 Stipulated Price Contract, requiring $5,000,000 in both general and automobile liability insurance. Proponents must submit a total lump-sum price inclusive of all tipping fees and delivery charges.
