The Air Force plans to award a sole source contract to ION CORPORATION for the procurement of Information Technology related software and hardware upgrades, including the EFF ITA Level III Drawing Package, Provisioning Data upgrades, Aluminum Box, and cables. This contract is intended to enhance existing equipment previously purchased from ION CORPORATION, emphasizing compatibility and continuity. The estimated award date is September 2, 2009, with the work to be performed in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The acquisition falls under NAICS code 334417, which pertains to electronic component manufacturing, and limits participation to companies with no more than 500 employees. The procurement will be conducted under FAR 6.302, allowing for a non-competitive sole source award given the specialized nature of the equipment and prior purchases from ION CORPORATION. While the government does not intend to solicit competitive proposals, interested parties may submit expressions of interest or capability within 10 days to inform the government’s decision on whether to proceed competitively. Registration in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and the Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) is mandatory for contract award eligibility. Key contacts for this procurement include Contract Specialist Tina M. Grujic and Electronic Engineer Matthew Babb, both based at Tinker Air Force Base.
