The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District, is seeking information from small and large businesses for a dredging project in Providence, Rhode Island, under NAICS code 237990. The project is estimated to cost between 80 million and 100 million dollars, with a solicitation expected around March 15, 2027. Construction is slated to begin in September 2027 and span approximately two years, divided into two dredging seasons ending August 31, 2029. The scope involves the mechanical dredging of approximately 5.5 million cubic yards of material using closed clamshell buckets. The work is divided into two primary sequences. First, the contractor must construct a new Confined Aquatic Disposal (CAD) cell at Edgewood Shoals North, which includes digging an access channel and excavating 3.2 million cubic yards of material for disposal at four designated sites. Second, the contractor will perform maintenance dredging of the Providence River and Harbor Federal Navigation Project to a depth of -40 feet MLLW plus two feet of allowable overdepth, removing approximately 2.3 million cubic yards of material to be placed in the newly constructed CAD cell. Strict operational requirements include maintaining a production rate of 300,000 cubic yards every 30 calendar days, working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All activities must adhere to prescribed environmental windows to protect aquatic wildlife, and extensions to these windows are not permitted. Interested firms must demonstrate experience with mechanical dredging at the required production rate and open water placement in New England during winter months. The Elfers Spur Trail Seawall Project involves repairing and stabilizing a section of the trail connecting the Anclote River Nature Park to the Pinellas Trail in Tarpon Springs, Florida. Due to erosion caused by the Anclote River near East Grand Blvd, the trail has become unsafe, necessitating the construction of a seawall to prevent further damage. The proposed seawall will consist of 34-foot-long steel sheet piles extending over a 350-foot stretch, topped with a concrete cap and reinforced with helical tieback anchors spaced at 11-foot intervals. To accommodate the seawall installation, approximately half of the existing asphalt trail will be removed and replaced along the full length of the project, including 150 feet of full-depth roadway repair in severely undermined areas. The project is solicited under the title "Elfers Spur Trail Seawall Project" with a response deadline of June 10, 2025. The contract is estimated to be valued between $500,000 and $1,000,000 and falls under NAICS code 237990, which pertains to other heavy and civil engineering construction. The project is managed by the City of Tarpon Springs, Florida, and is part of a broader effort to enhance trail safety and resilience against erosion. The Elfers Spur Trail connects the Anclote River Nature Park to the Pinellas Trail in the City of Tarpon Springs, FL. Near the South end of the trail, undermining and damage to the path due to erosion from the Anclote River have made the trail unsafe. To repair the trail and prevent future erosion, a seawall along the trail near East Grand Blvd has been proposed. The seawall would include 34ft long steel sheet piles along a 350ft project length. The seawall would include a concrete cap and helical tieback anchors spaced at 11ft along the wall. Additionally, half of the width of the asphalt trail would be removed and replaced along the full length of the project, with 150ft of the trail restoration including a full-depth roadway repair in the areas where the trail has been severely undermined.
