Full Description

An Elm tree that has graced the County’s historic courthouse green for over a century has fallen victim to Dutch Elm disease.  It is the intent to not only remove the tree in a safe and professional manner,  it is the intent to salvage some of the timber for milling into lumber.  Given its massive size, the features of the surrounding courthouse and the green (most notably the statue of Queen Anne), and the high visibility and public interest that would be inherent in the tree’s removal, it has been determined that it is in the County’s best interest to request qualifications from tree removal specialists in order to select the best firm for the job.
