Full Description

This is an amendment to correct the project description of previous project #2026-071. The correct estimated excavation is “up to 13 feet”, and estimated working days have been updated to approximately 15. The proposed project would involve a repair/replacement of a storm drainpipe by the County of San Diego (“Applicant”) in the city of San Diego, California. Work to specifically complete the proposed project would involve removal of existing concrete in an existing parking lot, excavation of up to 13 feet to expose damaged trench line pipe, and removal and replacement with a new 12” pipe. Applicant would then backfill, compact, repave and restripe parking spaces. Construction of the proposed project is anticipated to occur in July or August 2026 and would take approximately 15 working days to complete with ongoing modifications and maintenance, as needed. Applicant will fence off the working area and will temporarily affect 13 parking spaces to reach the sewer pipe. Applicant will redirect traffic within the parking lot around the construction area as needed. Due to its nature and limited scope, construction of the proposed project would generate a minor amount of vehicle trips and would require limited use of equipment. Therefore, impacts related to air quality, greenhouse gas emissions, transportation and traffic are not anticipated to occur. Furthermore, the Applicant would be responsible for complying with all applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding construction demolition debris, hazards and hazardous materials, and stormwater.
