Emergency Generator Replacement

The City of Pleasanton is soliciting bids for the replacement and installation of new emergency diesel generators at five critical water and sewer facilities: Laurel Creek Booster Pump Station, 900 Santos Booster Pump Station, 1300 Santos Booster Pump Station, S-7 Sewer Lift Station, and S-12 Sewer Lift Station. Outages for electrical feed shutdowns require 28 days’ advance notice and Engineer approval, while other outages require 14 days’ notice. Safety mandates include a submitted safety plan within 20 days of notice to proceed, compliance with OSHA standards for confined spaces including mandated air changes in wetwells and drywells, gas monitoring at all access points, and noise control using mufflers on equipment. Environmental obligations prohibit discharge of untreated oily substances or chlorinated water, requiring dechlorination and regulatory approval.
