This contract, solicitation number W911WN-15-R-0007, was awarded by the Department of Defense through the W072 Endist Pittsburgh office for emergency sewer system repairs at the Berlin Lake Mill Creek Recreation Area Campground in Ohio. The project was initiated to address critical ice damage to manholes and the sewage system discovered during spring maintenance and inspections. Because the campground sewage system could not be operational until these repairs were completed, the action was processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures under the SAT and other than competitive procedures due to the extreme urgency of the requirement. The contract was awarded as a sole source to Northstar Contracting, the incumbent provider, with an estimated cost of 40,000 dollars. This determination was made to ensure rapid response times to prevent the contamination of the lake with raw sewage and to maintain strict compliance with OhioEPA regulations. The procurement was managed by contracting officers Michelle Anderson and Sherrie Plonski under NAICS code 237110.
