Roadside brush removal activities located on approximately 88.9 kilometers of Forest Service Roads (FSR) within the Sunshine Coast Natural Resource District. The Contractor shall mechanically (rubber tired brushing machine only) brush both roadsides of the FSR as indicated in this contract and on attached Appendix Location Maps. Brushing is to extend to the upper outside edge of ditches and/or a minimum of 3 metres (m) from each edge of the road surface. Vegetation is to be cut down to ground level, and up to a height of 3 m to take care of any overhanging branches. Curves and corners to be brushed out sufficiently to allow a minimum of 140 m sight distance (where applicable). Road junctions, signs, bridges and other structures also need to be brushed out to a minimum of 70 m sight distance (where applicable). Brush refers to all vegetation within the road prism up to 15 centimeters (cm) diameter.All vehicles and brushing equipment must be equipped with working communication radios containing the relevant FSR dedicated radio frequencies and adhere to applicable road use protocol.Contractor must use the indicated Forest Service Road Radio Frequency.Works are not to commence until August 17, 2026. ONLY HARD COPY BID SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
