The applicant, Southern California Edison (SCE), under Encroachment Permit 12-26-6-US-0443, is proposing to replace one deteriorated transmission utility pole (4027225E) on State Route 90 (SR-90, Imperial Highway), a principal arterial in the City of Brea, in Orange County. This work is part of SCEs deteriorated pole infrastructure replacement program, under Work Order TD2398649. The purpose of the project is to maintain safe and reliable electrical service. The need for the project is that the existing pole is deteriorated and poses a risk to safe and reliable electrical service. The proposed replacement pole will be installed hard set northwest its existing location, on the sidewalk along the westbound direction of SR-90, at postmile (PM) R5.26 and 3 feet (ft) from the edge of traveled way (ETW) within the State right-of-way. The project is financed with private funds, and the work that will occur within the Caltrans ROW is less than 1 acre. No new right-of-way is required.
