The Town of Fayston is seeking engineering and design services to finalize the construction of two culverts that were damaged during the July 2024 flooding and are now being upsized based on hydraulic studies conducted by the Vermont Agency of Transportation. The project involves designing permanent replacement structures at two specific sites: Fayston TH-4 on Center Fayston Road over an unnamed tributary to Shepard's Brook, and Fayston TH-5 on Sharpshooters Road over another unnamed tributary to Shepard's Brook. These structures are being upgraded to accommodate increased hydraulic capacity, with the goal of restoring and improving flood resilience using FEMA Public Assistance funding. Hydraulic studies have already been completed and are attached to the RFP, and Vermont Fisheries have confirmed the presence of Brook Trout at both locations, though no additional protections are required due to natural barriers. The contract, titled "Engineering & Design Project for Two Box Culverts for the Town of Fayston," is posted with a solicitation number 69930 and has a response deadline of November 7, 2025. The project budget ranges from $150,000 to $300,000, and the work is to be performed within Vermont. Interested firms can contact Madison Vasseur via email or phone for further details.
