The Enterprise Sourcing Group (ESG) at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio is responsible for executing strategic sourcing for 71 Air Force bases across the continental United States. They are hosting a two-day event on October 25-26, 2011, at The Hope Hotel and Conference Center in Dayton, OH, aimed at engaging U.S. industry representatives. The event will provide insight into the ESG’s mission, the increasing significance of strategic sourcing within the Air Force and Department of Defense, and current and upcoming opportunities related to Air Force installation acquisitions. Participants will have the chance to learn about various commodity sourcing strategies, network with other contractors, interact with USAF personnel overseeing sourcing efforts, and contribute feedback on cost-saving initiatives and sourcing strategies. The ESG oversees a broad range of acquisition categories, including civil engineering, force protection, IT, medical services, furnishings, office supplies, fitness equipment, domestic shipping, and advisory services. Beyond strategic sourcing, ESG also manages operational contracting support for multiple Air Force agencies. The event, co-sponsored by the Dayton Area Defense Contractors Association, focuses on partnership-building and information sharing rather than specific solicitations or commitments. Interested parties can register and seek more information through the provided contacts, with additional support from ESG representatives Brittany Kempton and Adam Coyne. This gathering serves as a planning and informational forum to strengthen collaboration between the Air Force and industry suppliers.
