Herkimer County Industrial Development Agency (HCIDA) will utilize the EPA Brownfield Assessment Grant to revitalize severe industrial blight across strategic target areas in the County of Herkimer. Following decades of manufacturing decline, population loss, and economic disinvestment, the region is left with hundreds of aging, contaminated, and structurally compromised facilities that pose serious public health risks to its sensitive local population, including elevated rates of lead exposure, asthma, and chronic disease. The EPA has awarded the Herkimer County Industrial Development Agency a brownfields assessment grant for environmental investigations and remedial planning activities. The grant activities are separated into and will be performed in four tasks as follows: 1. Select sites for environmental characterizations; 2. Conduct community outreach; 3. Perform site assessments; and 4. Prepare written reports regarding the environmental characterizations. 2026 Regional Transportation Plan and Sustainable Communities Strategy
Solicitation # 2021100331
The 2026 Regional Transportation Plan and Sustainable Communities Strategy (RTP/SCS) is a state and federally mandated project led by the Kings County Association of Governments (KCAG). This comprehensive update to the 2022 plan establishes a minimum 20-year transportation framework for Kings County, covering all modes of transportation and extending the planning horizon through 2049. The project encompasses incorporated cities including Avenal, Corcoran, Hanford, and Lemoore, as well as all unincorporated areas of the county. This EIR analyzes the long-term environmental impacts of the preferred SCS scenario and other alternatives, focusing on air quality, greenhouse gas emissions, and biological resources. The process requires strict adherence to various regulatory frameworks, including the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, the Federal and California Clean Air Acts, and California Senate Bills 375, 743, and 32, as well as Assembly Bill 32. The project involves extensive coordination with trustee and regulatory agencies, including the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and the Native American Heritage Commission. Key requirements include mandatory tribal consultations under AB 52 and SB 18 to protect cultural resources and the implementation of a mitigation monitoring and reporting plan to address significant environmental effects. As a programmatic document, the EIR is designed to facilitate effective tiering for future transportation and development projects within the region.
