The Erbes Road Flood Mitigation Project aims to address the damage caused by the 2018 Hill and Woolsey fires, which left sections of Erbes Road from Marview Drive to El Monte Drive severely impacted due to erosion, debris, and sediment runoff following subsequent rain events. The project involves implementing structural improvements such as v-ditch gutters and sediment walls designed to control and divert excess stormwater, thereby reducing hillside runoff and preventing debris from spilling onto the roadway. These measures will help protect the roadway from future flooding and erosion, ensuring continued accessibility and safety for users. The project is solicited under the title "Erbes Road Flood Mitigation Project (CI 5655)" with a contract size estimated between $500,000 and $1,500,000. It is managed by the California Public Works - Engineering Division and is open for responses until July 24, 2024. The project is associated with NAICS code 562119, indicating its focus on stormwater and sediment control services. The primary contact for this solicitation is Clark Stanphill, reachable via email or phone, and additional project details can be accessed through the designated procurement portal.

Full Description

During the 2018 Hill and Woolsey fires, areas along Erbes Road from Marview Drive to El Monte Drive were burned. Due to the succession of rain events following the fires, this location was inundated with stormwater, debris, and sediment which eroded from the hillside and spilled onto the roadway. This key arterial roadway became impassable and required extensive debris removal. The proposed improvements will minimize future hillside runoff and debris by controlling and diverting part of the excess stormwater runoff. Protection of the roadway will be done with v-ditch gutters and sediment walls to convey runoff into the existing catch basins. The walls will capture sediment and prevent debris from entering the roadway.
