Only five prequalified contractors—Calex Engineering, Clarke Contracting, Jilk Heavy Construction, Mike Prlich & Sons, and Mladen Buntich Construction—are eligible to bid as the Prime Contractor. The project must be completed within 42 days from the Notice to Proceed, but the contract will remain open through the summer to address any additional damages caused by ongoing rain events. The project is part of the Los Angeles Public Works Engineering Bureau's efforts for hillside erosion control during the FY 25/26 period, with a contract value estimated between five and ten million dollars.
