We are dedicated to ensuring that Canadians have access to a world-class communication system that promotes innovation and enriches their lives. At the CRTC, we engage in a wide range of activities. We regulate telecommunications carriers, including major telephone and internet access companies. We also supervise and regulate over 2,000 broadcasters, including TV services, AM and FM radio stations, and the companies that provide these services to Canadians.RFP Scope:Rogers Communications is one of the largest telecom service providers in Canada. On July 8, 2022, Rogers’ telecom network suffered a major network outage for both wireless and wireline networks. This network outage left millions of Rogers customers without connectivity all over Canada for several hours. The CRTC has made public extensive details, provided by Rogers, about this incidence. Rogers has also proposed changes to its network to prevent major network outages in future and set out a multi year plan with massive investment to improve resiliency of their network. The objective of this RFP is to hire a consultancy firm who will assist in analysing and assessing Rogers’ wireless and wireline telecommunications networks for resiliency in all aspects related to the July 8, 2022 outage and evaluating the changes proposed by Rogers in response to this network outage to preventing future outages.
