Explandable 4-Channel Easy Mount Ussing System

Sole Source FBO Notice for Procurement Request 000HCCCC-2014-70122 Title: Expandable 4-Channel Easy Mount Ussing System The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Pathology and Physiology Research Branch, Health Effects Laboratory Division intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Physiologic Instruments, Inc. 12335-6 World Trade Drive, San Diego, CA 92128-3783 for an Expandable 4-Channel Easy Mount Ussing System. Physiological Instruments Easy Mount System contains small volume Ussing chambers which decrease the amount of agent required for experiments resulting in decreased expense. The Voltage/Current clamp unit is specifically designed for use with small tissue samples, is very sensitive, and does not require additional amplifiers to increase signal for data acquisition. The entire system is compact and will fit our limited bench space. There are no other Ussing systems that can accommodate the 6.55mm cell culture insert in which we grow our primary human epithelial cell culture. Physiological Instruments Easy Mount System is already used in our laboratory and therefore is compatible with our current system. The sliders are particularly unique and are used to mount cell culture wells into the Ussing system and can be interchanged between Ussing setups but not with other brand Ussing systems. This contract action is for services for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) and 10 U.S.C 2304(c) (1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. The notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within (15) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
