The Government of Canada wishes to acquire a three to six-acre (1 to 1.6 Hectares) piece of vacant land (with municipal services or the ability for approved well and septic) in the town of Cheticamp. Subject lands must be located within the area from Grand Etang to the border of the Cape Breton Highlands National Park on the Cheticamp side. The site must meet the following criteria: • 3-6 acres (1 to 1.6 hectares) in size; • Be located between Grand Etang and the border of the Cape Breton Highlands National Park on the Cheticamp side; • Have arterial road frontage (direct road access or confirmation of ability to obtain access); • Preferred to be zoned commercial, institutional or industrial; • Preferably be rectangular in shape; • Be in close proximity to amenities such as service stations, financial institutions and restaurants. Information provided by the owner, or by the owner’s agent, shall include: • A map showing the location of the lands; • Site plan; • Description of the current zoning; • Details of services/utilities; • A statement as to the nature of respondent’s rights in the land; • A completed Phase I Site Assessment (if available); • A completed Property Transfer Assessment Questionnaire. The Government of Canada may request additional information. Agents submitting a response to this Request for Information shall provide the Government of Canada with a letter from the owner authorizing them to do so.
