Full Description

This contract action was accomplished using other than competitive procedures because a statute exists that expressly authorizes or requires that the acquisition be made from a specific source or through another agency (FAR 6.302-5); specifically, Sole source awards under the 8(a) Program. Per FAR 6.302-5 a J&A is not required for this award. This project will remove military munitions and associated munitions debris from approximately nine acres of property associated with past salvage operations managed from building F-33 at Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant. The task requires removal of surface and subsurface munitions and explosives of concern (MEC), munitions debris (MD) and Material Potentially Possessing an Explosive Hazard (MPPEH); subsequently, the removal of high vegetation and large concentrations of waste and magnetic anomalies that will interfere with the removal work is also addressed. A preliminary geophysical-aided visual survey of the project site has been performed and assessed to contain Improved Conventional Munitions (ICM).
