This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number NRCS-02-DE-06 is issued as a Request for Quotes. The United States Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) announces a Request for Quotes (RFQ) for Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technical assistance for the soil survey program in Delaware and Maryland. Work will consist of digital map development, quality assurance, product publication, and GIS training. STATEMENT OF WORK The contractor will provide GIS technical assistance for product delivery and training for the soil survey program in Delaware and Maryland. Work will consist of manipulation of digital soil survey map data and ancillary digital data (LIDAR, orthophotography, etc.) for use in soils survey production, which will include updating, quality control, and web base publication. Training and technical assistance will focus on the integration of various types of hardware and software packages (ARCMap/GIS 9.2, ArcPad, ArcIMS, and field data recorders) for soil survey update and maintenance.
