AI Contract Overview

The Defense Logistics Agency is conducting market research to identify capable sources to provide engineering expertise and logistical support for the repatriation of F108 core engine modules. The primary goal is to transition the United States Air Force from commercial repair to organic repair for several specific components, including the combustion chamber, turbine shaft, and various nozzle and fan blade segments. Required services encompass the full remanufacture process, including disassembly, cleaning, inspection, assembly, testing, and packaging, as well as supply chain management and long-lead time parts procurement. Eligible candidates must possess the necessary labor, materials, certifications, and technical data to support organic shop stand-up. Crucially, potential sources must hold a current license or agreement with the original equipment manufacturer, CFM International. While the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302, this notice serves to determine if the effort can be made competitive based on the capabilities and license agreements of interested vendors.
