The Long Island State Veterans Home is seeking proposals for the purchase of twenty-two electric Rebotec Phoenix EL Reclining Shower Chairs with accessories and six electric TR Equipment1000 Adjustable Shower/Commode Bariatric Chairs, also with accessories, or approved equivalents. The contract requires that all pricing be comprehensive, covering packaging, crating, shipping, in-service training, assembly, and delivery to specified nursing units, with the award going to the lowest total lot price. Bidders must submit complete pricing; incomplete submissions will result in disqualification. The specifications emphasize adherence to the features of the named proprietary products, but substitutions with equivalent items from other manufacturers are permitted if properly documented and approved through written requests, accompanied by sample products for review. The procurement process is governed by the Procurement Lobbying Act, restricting direct contact to designated personnel, specifically the Purchasing Director, Michael Giambalvo. Interested parties must submit proposals within 15 business days of the advertisement, with a due date of January 30, 2024, by 3:00 PM. The contract is a one-time purchase with a delivery deadline of 45 business days after receiving the purchase order. The project is located in Suffolk County, New York, at 100 Patriots Road, Stony Brook. The procurement does not set aside opportunities for service-disabled veteran-owned businesses but includes goals for minority-owned (10%), women-owned (10%), and service-disabled veteran-owned (6%) subcontracting. Bidders should note that no similar contracts have been awarded to the same entities in the past five years.
