The Social Security Administration intends to issue a firm-fixed priced purchase order to Dow Jones Reuters Business Interactive LLC to purchase 50 search and retrieval user licenses and 3,500 reader licenses to all titles on Factiva.com for one year, beginning October 1, 2008 through September 30, 2009. This is a renewal. The Factiva.com subscription includes 50-password holder access to search and retrieve from: 14,000 sources from 159 countries and available in 22 languages, including: 2,100+ Newspapers Same-day and archival coverage of the world's most influential newspapers, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, South China Morning Post, The Times, and the Financial Times; 3,500+ Magazines General business titles and the industry publications for knowledge-driven markets, including The Economist, Finanz und Wirtschaft, Satellite News, and Computerworld; 5,500+ business and industry publications; 500+ Newswires Breaking news from Dow Jones, Reuters and the Associated Press, as well as PR Newswire, M2 Presswire and other regionally focused and industry newswires. 280+ Media programs Transcripts from BBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox. Period of Performance is for a one-year period, beginning October 1, 2008 through September 30, 2009. Under FAR Part 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Sources Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. This requirement is utilizing procedures in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 - Acquisition of Commercial Items in conjunction with FAR Part 13. This is not a request for quotations or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation, but merely notification of the Government's intent to order this subscription from Dow Jones Reuters Business Interactive LLC. Requests for copies of a solicitation in response will not be honored or acknowledged. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purposes of determining whether or to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government does not intend to pay for information provided in response to this publication. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill this requirement. If no affirmative, responses are received within 3 business days, in accordance with FAR 13.106-1, (b)(1) negotiations will be conducted with Dow Jones Reuters Business Interactive LLC as the only source.
