AI Contract Overview
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is conducting market research through a Sources Sought Notice issued under FAR 52.215-3 to determine the availability of commercial and industrial sources capable of supplying a upgraded filtration system for the 21-meter antenna at the Fairbanks Command and Data Acquisition Station in Fairbanks, Alaska. This notice is strictly for informational and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation, request for proposals, or any obligation by the government to award a contract. The requirement focuses on replacing the current 30-mesh stacked plate oil filtration system with a new system capable of filtering particulates down to 10 microns and effectively removing moisture from gearbox oil to reduce maintenance and improve reliability. The anticipated delivery timeline is 30 days after order placement, and the associated NAICS code is 333998 with a small business size standard of 700 employees. Respondents are invited, but not required, to submit voluntary responses including a statement of interest not exceeding three pages outlining their capabilities and experience, any applicable GSA, GWAC, or Multiple Award Contract numbers, their legal business name, physical address, Unique Entity ID, CAGE code, point of contact, and their size status under NAICS 333998, including any applicable socioeconomic certifications such as HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Women-Owned, or 8(a) status. The government will not pay for any costs incurred in preparing responses, and responses must not include proprietary, classified, confidential, or sensitive information. Any information submitted may be used by the government for planning or future solicitations. No formal evaluation factors, contract clauses, pricing, or delivery terms are provided at this stage, as this is a pre-solicitation market research effort. The announcement includes specific technical components to be supplied, including four two-stage oil filtration systems, twenty-four 25µm water-absorbing filter canisters, twenty-four 10µm particulate filters, one ¾ HP motor, and two pumps with integral pressure relief. The place of performance is clearly identified as Fairbanks, Alaska, and the notice remains open for responses through July 2, 2026, with no formal submission portal specified. REQUIREMENT
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) Office of Satellite Product Operations (OSPO) has a requirement for a filtration system for the 21m antenna located at the Fairbanks Command and Data Acquisition Station (FCDAS) in Fairbanks, AK. The current filtration system features a 30-mesh stacked plate design which cannot support drastic fluctuations in temperature while maintaining stable oil temperatures. The 30-mesh design is unable to properly remove moisture content from the oil used in the gearboxes.
This requirement will upgrade the current Filtration System to filter at a rate of IO microns, filter excess moisture from oil, and provide cleaner oil to the gearboxes to reduce equipment maintenance.
