The Fleet Logistics Center Puget Sound is soliciting a sole source acquisition for a metal hose for compressed air, jet assist (part number M12700182) from the Original Equipment Manufacturer, Fairbanks Morse, LLC. This requirement is based on strict regulatory guidance restricting procurement to the OEM due to the critical safety nature of the part, which supports the main diesel engines aboard military vessels. The procurement follows the Revolutionary FAR Overhaul policy and the Military Sealift Command qualification requirements, which limit competition to authorized sources ensuring the reliability and safety of critical ship components. Although designated as a sole source, all responsible sources may still submit offers before the solicitation deadline of June 2, 2026. Evaluation of proposals will be conducted based on technical merit including delivery date, past performance, and pricing, with no single factor prioritized over the others. The anticipated contract award date is June 2026, with the place of performance being San Diego, California. The solicitation is managed by the NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Puget Sound located in Bremerton, Washington, with primary contact personnel available for inquiries.
