The County of Riverside’s Purchasing Department, on behalf of the Department of Public Social Services-Children’s Services Division (DPSS-CSD), is seeking proposals from parties qualified in providing Faith-Based Portal Support Services. Currently, DPSS responds to requests from caseworkers for children and families in need of assistance in providing goods and services through collaboration with faith-based communities. The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to contract with qualified parties to engage the Faith-Based Community to assist in obtaining donated items to meet family/client tangible needs to provide support for the foster children/youth. DPSS-CSD serves children in crisis and highly values community engagement in serving this population. DPSS-CSD has the desire to work with bidders who can collaborate with local faith-based partners that facilitate Faith-Based Support Services implementation. DPSS–CSD provides services designed to promote the well-being of children by ensuring safety, achieving permanency, and strengthening families to care successfully for their children; however, once in foster care, the goals of promoting safety, permanency, and child well-being can be undermined by disruptions in placement. Requests for tangible goods may include, but are not limited to: beds, car seats, safety equipment, clothing, and other items as needed to achieve and/or maintain child/family placement stability.
