Fall Protection System

Farmingdale State College (SUNY) intends to make an award under our discretionary authority, pursuant to NYS Education Law §355(5)(a), which is up to $125,000, for the above noted commodity/product or service. A sealed bid will not be held. Technical questions will be accepted, via email and in bullet point format, through COB Thursday, February 8. We will respond to all inquiries no later than COB Tuesday, February 13. In accordance with OSHA regulations relating to Fall Protection and Personal Protective Devices, each responsible bidder shall propose to design, fabricate, furnish and install a complete fall protection system for Orchard Hall, a four-story student residence at Farmingdale State College. The system shall provide fall protection for workers while they are engaged in their work activities on the roof. All elements of the system shall be designed and installed in strict accordance with appropriate OSHA regulations. In general, workers will be required to attach themselves onto the safety system prior to being exposed to a fall hazard. This will be accomplished by attaching one end of their connecting device to the system, the other end will be attached to a full body harness worn by the worker.
