Feather Falls Post-Fire Phase 2 (SNC 1943-RT)

The Sierra Nevada Conservancy (SNC) would provide funding to the Mooretown Rancheria of Maidu Indians of California for the Feather Falls Post-Fire Phase 2 (project). The project includes rebuilding the Feather Falls Campground, which was destroyed by the 2020 North Complex Fire. The project would be located on (USFS) land. Project activities were analyzed and authorized under the Feather Falls Salvage Project Decision Notice (signed July 9, 2021), and the Butte County Resource Conservation District (BCRCD) previously filed a Notice of Exemption under CEQA (June 12, 2025) for a prior version of this project that included rebuilding a new campground on the exact footprint of the old campground. Subsequently, the new campground’s footprint was moved to a slightly different location and three additional sites were added. Resource surveys for the new location were conducted by Plumas National Forest and documented under a Finding of Applicability and No Extraordinary Circumstance (FANEC) on March 26, 2026.
