The United States Department of Agriculture - Animal Plant and Health Inspection Service (APHIS) Plant Protection Quarantine (PPQ) anticipates a sole source (name brand) procurement under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 for the following requirement: Fiberglass Trays ( 805-2208 WHITE) 30 7/8 X 15 7/8 X 2 7/8 1543 These trays were specially designed for the mass rearing of Mexican Fruit Fly Larvae, and to the USDA's knowledge, the only manufacturer of this patented design is the Molded Fiberglass Tray Company of Linesville, PA. The USDA/APHIS/PPQ Mexican Fruit Fly Rearing Facilities located in Texas, Hawaii, and Guatemala only use this particular tray design. Several thousand of these trays are currently in use and all replacement trays must be of the exact same design and dimensions as the existing stock. The current order is for 3800ea. Interested sources that are capable of providing the equivalent supply listed above are encouraged to submit statements of capability to the contracting office. Small business concerns are encouraged to participate. This is not a request for competitive proposals, but instead a market research method to determine interested sources. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive (i.e., non-brand name) procurement. Interested sources who submit data are responsible for appropriately marking information if it is proprietary in nature. Please provide past performance and references regarding your ability to provide this supply and service along with your Statement of Capability.
